I’m Lindsay. Mother. Aspiring Farmer. Book Lover. Crafty Woman.
I created this blog in 2010, to record our family’s trials and triumphs as we transitioned from the city to the country. We moved from a very tiny 2-bdrm bungalow on a very tiny city lot, to a large old farmhouse on a little bit of land, and are doing what we can to sustain ourselves. It isn’t always easy!
I spin, knit, crochet, and sew. I keep chickens, ducks, goats, and one little Shetland ewe. I make most of my family’s food from scratch. My four small children are life learners (we are “unschooling”). I breastfeed and use cloth diapers. Our home is TV-free. That’s me in a nutshell.
I aspire to grow the majority of our food on our little farm and bring in a small income from my efforts. I welcome you to join us and learn with us as we journey through this life.

How can I subscribe to your blog? Do I just click the “notify me of new posts via email” button?
Hmmmm, I assume so. Give it a try!

You have a really beautiful blog, as well as desires for your future! I am so happy when I find families like yours with these kinds of passions and dreams. Many blessings as you strive to bring them into reality!

So wonderful to find your blog! My daughters and I will be moving to the Leamington area this summer and are hoping to connect with some like minded families. Very exciting!
Hello, I love your blog! I was just wondering where you live? – hope that’s not personal – I live in Windsor ON and started a project, (check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlCrfUrUg3c ), and I’m looking for gardens/farms that wouldnt mind accepting food scraps from the community to use as compost? I am holding a workshop sometime in July… let me know if you are interested and whether you live nearby? Please like the facebook page as well:http://www.facebook.com/greening.kenilworthgardens
Hi Lina, for some reason I didn’t see your comment until now. We are near Windsor, in Harrow, and would be happy to accept compost or scraps to compost.
Hello Lindsay,
Just wondering if you could send me your exact address so I can find it on google maps? Feel free to email me as well!
